How does SnapCal calculate calories?
SnapCal uses Google Gemini AI to analyze photos of your food and estimate calories, protein, carbs, and fat. The AI recognizes thousands of foods and provides instant nutrition estimates.
Is SnapCal free?
SnapCal is free to download and use with basic calorie tracking features. Premium features like AI coaching, advanced insights, and nutrition plans are available through an optional subscription.
Does SnapCal work offline?
Basic calorie tracking and food logging work offline. AI features (food photo scanning, chat assistant) require an internet connection.
How accurate is the AI food recognition?
AI-generated nutritional values are estimations and may vary from actual values. For best accuracy, you can manually adjust portions and values after scanning. Always treat AI results as approximations.
Does SnapCal sync with Apple Health?
Yes! SnapCal reads steps, workouts, active calories, and more from Apple Health. It can also write nutrition, hydration, and weight data back to Health.
Can I export my data?
Yes, SnapCal includes a data export feature in Settings. You can export your meal logs, weight history, and nutrition data.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → SnapCal.
How do I delete my data?
Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. For data processed by third-party services (AI, analytics), contact snapcal@tuanle.dev for a formal deletion request.
